Just another Edublogs.org weblog
First graders at ASM lost their minds (and dropped their brains) at the Brain Drop. Working in teams, they created “craniums” in order to protect water balloon “brains” from a punishing one-story drop. It was action-packed and an unforgettable learning experience about the importance of your skull and using a helmet!
Here, a team prepares to pack their water balloon “brain” in a custom-made “cranium” of their own design.
Building the cranium
Sealing the box
The crowd awaits the first descent with bated breath!
Here goes…!
Will it survive the brutal impact…?
SUCCESS!!!
You will be amazed at how much we know about different types of weather, clouds, and storms! We had SO much fun recording our voices, choosing images, and learning how to use Power Point. We hope you like our VERY COOL Weather Slideshow!

Here is the last group of introductions from your friends in Ms. Miller’s class. We hope you enjoy listening to us and we look forward to sharing our writing in the future!
Hello friends! We have recorded brief introductions. Many of us recorded our voices on the first audio file below. Look for the second this week to learn a little about the rest of us!
We are a first grade class at The American School of Madrid in Spain. We are new to blogging, but we think it is very cool. Ours is a large, private school in the suburbs of Madrid with a diverse student body from Spain, the U.S., and around the world. I am Ms. Miller( http://www.freewebs.com/joannamiller/), and this is my fourth year at ASM. If you have never been to Madrid, we will try to give you a taste of it, as well as a glimpse into what we are doing in our lessons. Welcome!
